The first addition of a complex aircraft type to the CAVOK Aviation hangar, G-AVWU may be a good choice for a pilot with little complex aircraft experience. The Piper Arrow was designed to be an easy step up for pilots transitioning from a trainer to a single with retractable landing gear and controllable-pitch propeller.
The primary reason is that the Arrow is a simple retractable to fly. It has the same predictable handling as the Cherokee line of singles in which many pilots have learned to fly, but it's a little faster and sexier, thanks to its retractable gear. You can expect an IAS of 120kts while burning 35-40 litres per hour. The Arrow also has just enough power to keep the scenery going by at a satisfying pace, yet not enough to get you into trouble. G-AVWU is also equipped sufficiently enough to enable those with IR(R) ratings to sharpen their skills and make the most of the investment spent in gaining such a rating.
The following equipment can be found in this aircraft

Those 3 extra seats can come in handy too, whether it be to share the experience with family or friends or just have some extra space. We also welcome Wingly flights in all our aircraft, providing you follow their guidance accordingly, yet further reducing the hourly cost of your hour building overall.
Important Notice: There is mandatory 'until competent' instruction required (paid separately) with a qualified instructor for those who do not have previous 'complex' experience.
Caring for your aircraft
Similar to aircraft ownership, hiring from us allows you to experience what it would be like owning or operating an aircraft without having to worry about maintenance or insurance. Throughout your hire period, and in recognising the journey you may be taking to becoming a commercial pilot, taking care of the aircraft is all we ask. By doing so will prolong the life of components which take most of the strain of day-to-day flying, such as wheel bearings and tyres, precisely the approach you will take during your commercial flying career. On the day you come to collect your aircraft, we'll have made sure it's clean, tidy and ready to fly. We'll also carry out a walk around with you to make sure you're completely satisfied before you officially take responsibility for the aircraft. For operational reasons and unless otherwise advised, please leave the key in the aircraft at all times.
As one of the most cost-effective PA28R's in the UK, don't hesitate to book your package with us today.
*Where possible, we continue to maintain our aircraft to better improve your experience. As a result, some images may not fully reflect the latest additions to the aircraft equipment specification.
We recognise that you are making a significant investment when it comes to hiring from us and that's why when you book packages greater than 25, 50, 75 and 100 hours, we'll discount your hourly rate accordingly. Putting it simply, the more you fly, the more cost-effective your hour building becomes.
