G-RVND is an exceptionally tidy 1979 Piper PA38 Tomahawk where she's spent the majority of her past training new pilots out of Liverpool John Lennon and Durham Tees Valley. She's further equipped than some of the other Tomahawks in the fleet, namely fitted with a Garmin GNS430, a Comm/Nav/GPS all in one solution and of course IFR ready. While based with us, November Delta has been established across the UK, including on the famous Barra airstrip in Scotland, and is prepared for her next hour building adventure.
The following equipment can be found in this aircraft
Standard six pack instrument panel
Garmin GNS430, an all-in-one GPS/Nav/Comm solution
Garmin GTX328 Mode S Transponder
LED landing light and lit instrument panel
As far as 2-seaters go, the Piper PA38 Tomahawk is one of the best out there, far surpassing the rival Cessna 150. Built on the back of feedback from thousands of flight instructors, the Piper Tomahawk allows for better all-round visibility, more interior space, legroom and most importantly, handles similar to that of a larger aircraft, aiding the transition to larger training types. This is generated by the T-tail design, and most felt in the controls, where you'll need some extra muscle power in guiding the Tomahawk around the circuit, or into your favourite airstrip.
Caring for your aircraft
Similar to aircraft ownership, hiring from us allows you to experience what it would be like owning or operating an aircraft without having to worry about maintenance or insurance. Throughout your hire period, and in recognising the journey you may be taking to becoming a commercial pilot, taking care of the aircraft is all we ask. By doing so will prolong the life of components which take most the strain of day-to-day flying, such as wheel bearings and tyres, precisely the approach you will take during your commercial flying career. On the day you come to collect your aircraft, we'll have made sure it's clean, tidy and ready to fly. We'll also carry out a walkaround with you to make sure you're completely satisfied before you officially take responsibility for the aircraft. For operational reasons and unless otherwise advised, please leave the key in the aircraft at all times.
There's a reason we've chosen the Piper Tomahawk to make up the majority of our fleet, experience something different and get your PA38 package booked today.
*Where possible, we continue to maintain our aircraft to better improve your experience. As a result, some images may not fully reflect the latest additions to the aircraft equipment specification.
We recognise that you are making a significant investment when it comes to hiring from us and that's why when you book packages greater than 25, 50, 75 and 100 hours, we'll discount your hourly rate accordingly. Putting it simply, the more you fly, the more cost-effective your hour building becomes.
